Chikungunya and viral fever outbreak in Kendhikulhudhoo
Kendhikulhudhoo - Reports are coming from Noonu Atoll Kendhikulhudhoo that scores of people have fallen ill in the island with suspected Chickengunya and viral fever. Islanders are complaining that the one resident doctor in the island is unable to cope with this outbreak and that they are getting no help from the authorities despite several requests. Many people are in need of medical assistance. Regional hospital in Shaviyani Atoll Funadhoo is also not helping and 22 people are now admitted in a make shift ward in the island's health centre. Those that can afford have taken family members to Male' treatment our source confirmed. Kendhikulhudhoo has a population of around 1500.
